The character of Hill Banyan as a bonsai is very interesting. It produces a lot of aerial roots. When the root reaches the ground, it grows very fast and within a short time this new root will become thicker than the main trunk, thus forming very interesting root exposed style. In this picture, all the prop roots of the Hill Banyan transform into the trunk and the actual trunk, which produces branches and leaves is on the top of these trunk like roots.

It is very difficult to create a bonsai of conventional styles with this species.
